The Ask
ContactMonkey turned to DivNotes as their software innovation partner to develop their internal communications platform and this has grown into a decade-long partnership. The company needed to accelerate feature delivery and improve stability. As their customer base and usage grew, DivNotes pivoted to designing system architecture and implementing core changes to the platform. As ContactMonkey continued to grow, they leaned on DivNotes to help set up their in-house engineering team. This didn’t mean the end of our collaboration. Today, DivNotes continues to work side-by-side with ContactMonkey’s internal engineering teams to accelerate shipping code more frequently.
The Approach
From day one, seasoned Backend and Frontend engineers, acting as full‑time equivalents, began their collaboration on every engineering aspect of the product. The DivNotes team paired with internal team members as we helped ContactMonkey assemble and grow their engineering teams. We adopted the necessary workflows, communicated over Slack and Zoom just as any internal hire would, and contributed to many in-person sessions. By embedding deeply in their company, we could propose systems architecture changes, diagnose bottlenecks, and help restructure their product for greater reliability. Once their in-house team was hired, our engineers collaborated across ContactMonkey’s internal squads to carry out various engineering tasks. Whether it be optimizing database queries for large-scale workloads, resolving a production incident, or lending expertise on security questionnaires, we ensure that progress is never stalled.
The Results
What began as a short‑term commitment has become a decade‑long partnership. Ever since the start of our collaboration, DivNotes engineers have been treated as trusted members of ContactMonkey’s own staff, contributing to every major release, scaling the platform to support enterprise‑grade applications, and helping the company respond swiftly to customer needs.
